Call for Action
Once again the Seven Seas Cruising Association is holding "Operation Bahamas". We had great participation from the PDQr's last year. Thank you to all who participated and please help again if you are able. “Operation Bahamas Project” is a Seven Seas Cruising Association Humanitarian project whose purpose is to take school supplies and teaching aides to the Out Islands of the Bahamas. This winter we are in need of 30+ boats to take supplies to the Bahamas. The boxes are small approximately (11” L X 9” W X 7” D) and can easily be transferred to a dinghy. They are pre-addressed to each school principal. We plan to deliver supplies to Staniel Cay, Black Point, Little Farmers, Georgetown and Ragged Island. Boats may pick up boxes at the Vero Beach Municipal Marina and in Punta Gorda, Florida. Anyone interest in helping can e-mail Bruce Conklin at goldconk@yahoo.com. Boats can let us know what island(s) they would like to deliver to and where they would like to pick up the boxes. Many thanks for your help.

PDQs Wanted
PDQ 36 Wanted for Charter. Looking for private charter for all or part of 2009. My partner and I are taking a leave from work in 2009 and were looking to buy a 36 foot PDQ or charter one for all or part of the year. If there is someone who is interested in chartering their boat to a very responsible couple I would like to talk with them about possibilities. We are looking at sailing in the Caribbean and would like to pick up a boat down there in January 2009. We would be interested in discussing options if someone has a plan that would work for them and ourselves with another multihull etc.. I can be contacted at mgummer@cogeco.ca.
